Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a Medical Step Down Unit. The unit accommodates 6-20 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4. The role involves caring for patients with complex medical conditions including Sepsis, Heart Failure, Hypertensive Emergency, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Substance Abuse, Status Epilepticus, and Encephalopathy. There may also be opportunities to float to other Intermediate Care Unit units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for patients in the Medical Step Down Unit.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions regularly.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to formulate and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatments.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
