Interventional Radiology Technologist

Schedule

This position involves a 5x8-hour schedule with on-call duties. There will be 5-7 call shifts per 7-week block, including 2-4 weekend call days as needed.

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for producing high-quality radiologic images and assisting in various procedures. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and patient care skills, emphasizing teamwork and patient rights.

Responsibilities

• Select appropriate exposure factors and position patients to produce diagnostic-quality radiologic images.
• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations while assisting Radiologists during procedures.
• Demonstrate competency in the operation of all relevant equipment, reporting malfunctions when necessary.
• Complete assigned procedures in a timely fashion and assist with room turnover when possible.
• Adhere to medication security protocols, ensuring accessibility is limited to authorized personnel only.
• Utilize the Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively for documentation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Two years of experience in a relevant field.
• NYS Licensure (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• ARRT certification required; VIR certification preferred.
