Physical Therapist

Job Description

This position involves delegating responsibilities to the Physical Therapist Assistant and Aides. The activities are patient-focused and involve assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with physical therapy standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the patient’s function by performing formal and informal testing measures to determine skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status.
• Develop a goal-specific treatment regime based on assessment data and the patient's tolerance to carry out the treatment plan as prescribed.
• Submit a written treatment regime to be included as part of the plan of treatment, authorized by and coordinated with the physician. Update plan of care as needed to reflect changes in patient status.
• Devise a schedule of treatment, with frequency and duration specifics, to be discussed with the patient and coordinated with clinical support staff.
• Educate the patient, family, and/or caregiver regarding the pathology or condition, treatment alternatives, prognosis, and rationale for treatment through various interventions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• PT Experience - REQUIRED
• Outpatient Experience - REQUIRED
• Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty (Physical Therapy) - REQUIRED
• 2 Supervisory Reference Forms Completed within the last two years - REQUIRED
• Active American Heart Association BLS - REQUIRED
• LARA must state Active Michigan/MI Physical Therapist License - REQUIRED

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a schedule of 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, guaranteeing 40 hours per week.
