Job Description

The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound procedures to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ultrasound procedures for diagnostic purposes.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
• Maintain knowledge of ultrasound equipment, protocols, and safety guidelines.
• Produce and communicate sonograms to assist in diagnosis.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic adjustments as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred completion of a specialized training program in Ultrasonic Technology or on-the-job training with a registered sonographer.
• One year of experience performing ultrasound procedures in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required upon hire/transfer.
• Registered in OB/GYN with RDMS within one year of hire/transfer.
• Must meet American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renew every two years.
