Day shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) specializes in providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients. This role involves monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care for assigned ICU patients ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Utilize advanced technical skills to interpret critical lab results and monitor patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV medication and blood products.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians and allied health staff, for care planning.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and continuous monitoring of patients' conditions.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and health maintenance.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Critical Care experience required; Level II trauma experience necessary.
• Preferred experience in a teaching hospital and Level I trauma.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required; trauma certification (ATCAR) or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU preferred.
• Must possess a valid Maryland or compact RN license upon submission.
