Registered Nurse - Perinatal

Job Description

The competent Registered Nurse in a perinatal setting practices independently, demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, managing contingencies of clinical nursing, and developing long-range goals or plans. The Nurse makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to ensure effective patient care management.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments following appropriate protocols, while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a perinatal nursing specialty is preferred.
• Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact state.
• Current certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or AWHONN Intermediate FHM.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only).
• Current NRP certification.

Schedule

This position is full-time, with a shift from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
