Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport in and out of the facility as medically prescribed. This role includes evaluating patients and recommending appropriate treatment plans, alongside providing necessary education upon discharge. The Respiratory Therapist conducts physician-prescribed treatments, operates various ventilatory equipment, and administers medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation to patients. Additionally, they perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, monitoring, and take part in various procedures related to respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop treatment plans.
• Explain treatment procedures and equipment to patients.
• Conduct respiratory assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Perform routine chest physiotherapy and suctioning.
• Operate and maintain ventilatory equipment and various respiratory devices.
• Perform 12-Lead EKGs and basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Assist in procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care and arterial puncture as required.
• Document and communicate patient responses to therapy and treatment outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Respiratory Therapist license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Experience operating various types of respiratory equipment.
