Job Description

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient care with a focus on telemetry and progressive care patients requiring closer monitoring. This role requires acute patient care and experience with cardiac conditions and various infusion therapies.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care assignments with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1.
• Administer medications and monitor patients for efficacy and adverse reactions.
• Provide care for patients requiring advanced monitoring and supportive interventions.
• Collaborate with an ancillary team, including CNA and telemetry techs, to ensure patient needs are met.
• Perform unit-specific procedures including starting IVs, managing cardiac drips, and monitoring insulin therapy.
• Participate in charge nurse responsibilities as needed.
• Utilize the EPIC documentation system for patient care documentation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a valid RN license in the state of New York or proof of application.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a progressive care or telemetry unit.
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required prior to starting.
• Experience with telehealth monitoring and advanced cardiac care is essential.
• Recent (within the last 2 years) experience with the EPIC documentation system is required.
