Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract position. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures in a large academic teaching hospital environment.

Schedule

The position requires 12-hour day shifts from 0645 to 1915, with one or two weekday on-call shifts from 1900 to 0715, depending on unit needs. Additionally, there is a requirement for one full weekend of call approximately every five weeks.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the Cardiovascular/Open Heart OR.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
• Circulate in the operating room, with responsibilities that may include floating to other OR suites as needed, such as General, Ortho, Neuro, and ENT.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification is required; CNOR certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent OR RN experience, with a high level of competency in Cardiac/Vascular or Open Heart OR.
• Epic experience from within the past 2 years is non-negotiable.
• Must have general nursing experience, with a strong preference for large academic teaching hospital experience.
• Reliable transportation is required, with vehicles equipped for all-season or snow conditions recommended.
