Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist - Day Shift - 10 x 4

Job Description

As a CVOR Technologist, you will perform essential tasks in the operating room to assist the surgical team. Your role will involve preparing a sterile setup for surgical procedures, passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring the operating room is properly stocked and cleaned.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and sterile equipment.
• Assemble both sterile and non-sterile medical equipment.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including washing, shaving, and ensuring aseptic incision sites.
• Transport patients to the operating room and assist in positioning them appropriately.
• Efficiently pass instruments and sterile supplies to the surgical team during procedures.
• Help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments.
• Assist in the preparation, care for, and disposal of specimens taken for laboratory analysis.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to safety and aseptic techniques.
• After surgery, assist in transferring patients to the recovery room and restock the operating room.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Must have completed a program accredited by a nationally recognized institution or maintain certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TSC) certification preferred.
• Compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.

Schedule

This position entails a Day Shift schedule, working 10-hour shifts for 4 days a week.
