Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour Night shifts, varying from 7 PM to 7:30 AM.

Job Description

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care during the night shift, focusing on critically ill patients. The nurse should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of complex medical issues and be capable of intervening effectively in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.
• Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures related to patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nursing.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Preferred certifications include Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Experience with Cerner EMR in General Medical Surgical ICU settings is advantageous.

Holiday Expectations

The nurse must be available to work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year's Eve).
