Respiratory Therapist - Nights Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Nights - Three 12-hour shifts from 1800 to 0630, including every other weekend and a rotating holiday schedule.

Job Description

A Respiratory Therapist is needed to perform critical therapies aimed at diagnosing and treating patients with cardiopulmonary issues. Responsibilities include administering oxygen therapy, monitoring patients on ventilators, and collaborating with medical teams to adjust treatment plans based on patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine therapies that aid in the treatment, diagnosis, and evaluation of cardiopulmonary status.
• Conduct emergency rounds and titrate oxygen per protocol during oxygen and aerosol rounds.
• Initiate, monitor, evaluate, and wean invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Assess and document patient status before and after medication administration and procedures.
• Educate patients and families about therapies, medications, equipment, and treatment goals.
• Demonstrate competence in the calibration and troubleshooting of mechanical ventilators.
• Respond to emergent care situations, providing chest compressions and airway management as needed.
• Participate in community education events related to respiratory care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program (education verification required).
• WI Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from The National Board for Respiratory Care.
• Current AHA Provider Level BLS certification.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred.
