Neuro ICU Registered Nurse

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)

Job Description

The Neuro ICU Registered Nurse will provide critical care for patients in a comprehensive stroke center. The nurse will be responsible for managing stroke patients, including ischemic and hemorrhagic cases, as well as post-neurosurgery management. This role requires a strong neurocritical care background with an emphasis on ventilated patients and dysrhythmia management.

Responsibilities

• Care for stroke patients, including ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes
• Manage external ventricular drains (EVD) and lumbar drains (LD)
• Administer blood products and monitor vital signs
• Provide continuous IV sedation and manage sedation protocols
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams for patient care

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit
• Current ACLS and BCLS certifications required
• Experience with arterial line management preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
