Electrophysiology Specialist - Registered Nurse
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Day shift: 4x10 hours from 07:00 AM to 05:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Floating may be required as needed.
Job Description
The Electrophysiology Specialist delivers direct patient care within the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab, Catheterization Lab, and Catheterization Lab Holding room. This role is crucial in supporting safe, high-quality, culturally competent, and cost-effective patient care. The Electrophysiology Specialist is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, strategic planning, evaluating patient status, administering medications, and ensuring timely interventions that contribute to optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Maintain strict asepsis during diagnostic, interventional, and acute procedures.
- Prepare specialty EP equipment for accurate diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Utilize knowledge of physiologic monitoring and EP-specific systems for comprehensive patient monitoring.
- Manage EP-specific support functions, including digital archiving and resource supply distribution.
- Provide effective care in the circulating role during elective and emergency procedures.
- Assist in invasive lab functions and cross-train in multiple departments.
- Communicate effectively and apply cultural competence in collaboration with the healthcare team, physicians, and families.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CCI RCES, CCI RCIS.
- Experience with arrhythmia induction, cardioversion, AICD insertion/programming, and left atrial appendage closure.
- Proficient in cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, and conduction studies is preferred.
- Active RN license must be in hand at the time of submission.
