Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night Shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30), with additional weekend and holiday requirements as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide critical care to patients in the Emergency Department, a Level 1 Trauma Center with a 74-bed capacity. The nurse will float to the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU) as needed, managing patients who require inpatient-level care.

Responsibilities

• Administer emergency medications and treatment to patients.
• Monitor patients' health conditions and respond to emergencies.
• Provide care for various emergency conditions including trauma, acute psychosis, and respiratory emergencies.
• Assist in patient float operations between the Emergency Department and ETCU.
• Maintain documentation and compliance with regulations and protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of emergency department nursing experience.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS mandatory; TNCC and NIHSS preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
• Must be able to care for patients with diverse needs, including COVID-19 positive patients.
