Medical-Surgical Nurse

Night shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Block scheduling is not promised or guaranteed)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Medical-Surgical Nurse will provide care to adult patients with a variety of diagnoses such as post-surgical care, abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and bariatric surgical needs. The role requires floating to other units as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Utilize specialty equipment including IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes
• Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition to the appropriate team members
• Educate patients and families on care procedures and health management

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Active RN license in New York and all active nursing licenses
• NURSYS report for license verification
• Experience with EPIC EMR
• Must provide a resume documenting travel experience
