Registered Nurse - Women and Children's Services

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in Women and Children's Services is responsible for the overall nursing practice, focusing on the assessment of childbearing women, neonates, and family needs. This includes developing and implementing care plans and evaluating nursing care outcomes for the target population.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and family health status, history, and learning needs.
• Perform initial assessments and stabilization of neonates.
• Develop care plans based on identified physical and learning needs.
• Teach self-care and newborn care to patients and families.
• Promote understanding of family relationships' influence on health status.
• Provide support and collaborate with other healthcare disciplines for at-risk families.
• Facilitate interaction between family members to promote bonding.
• Assist patients and families in understanding and coping with women's health issues.
• Maintain and update knowledge and competency in women and infant care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of an accredited registered nurse program required.
• Current Pennsylvania RN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - renewed every two years.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification - renewed every two years.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification - renewed every two years.
