Med-Surg Float Pool Nurse

AM Shift: 07:00 – 19:30, 3 × 12-hour shifts per week.

Job Description

The Med-Surg Float Pool Nurse provides comprehensive patient care across multiple medical-surgical units, adapting quickly to varying patient populations and unit workflows. Nurses are expected to function independently, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and uphold all hospital policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care within various inpatient medical-surgical units.
• Float between multiple units as needed based on patient needs and unit requirements.
• Adhere to all policies regarding attendance, documentation standards, and medication safety protocols.
• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 on standard Med-Surg units, with variations based on unit acuity.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg nursing experience.
• Current BLS and NIHHS certifications are required; ACLS and TNCC are preferred.
• Strong proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system.
