Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit

This is a 12-hour night shift position. Nurses will typically work every other weekend, with scheduling adjusted to meet unit needs.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This role involves providing high-quality patient care to adults with acute and complex health issues requiring close monitoring and support. Nurses will be part of a resource float team, facilitating seamless patient care across appropriate units as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, with a focus on cardiac and respiratory needs.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in maintaining telemetry and managing cardiac drips.
• Perform procedures such as starting IVs and monitoring patients post-cardiac catheterization.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a progressive care or telemetry unit.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to starting.
• Experience with the EPIC documentation system within the past 2 years is essential.
• Must be willing to float to appropriate units as needed.
