Registered Nurse (RN) - Night 3x12.0

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees within a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Take responsibility for accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care with a focus on patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and engage patients and families in teaching activities.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status and changes to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel and participate in team-building activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Identify and address service needs, including supplies and equipment, to effectively complete care duties.
• Assume charge responsibilities following the orientation period and engage in continuous professional growth through education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift for designated facilities.
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This position is a night shift with a 3x12.0 schedule.
