CT Technologist

Job Description

Under general supervision and following established policies and procedures, the CT Technologist performs diagnostic CT exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. The role involves verifying patient identity and reviewing medical records for appropriateness of the exam or procedure. The technologist will interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors, including medications and psychological indicators.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients, including possible side effects, risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up care.
• Set up equipment and acquire appropriate images according to established scripts.
• Review images, document exceptions from protocols, and communicate relevant data to radiologists.
• Recognize and respond to medical emergencies effectively.
• Provide physician-prescribed post-care instructions to patients.
• Participate in process improvement activities within the radiology practice.
• Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees.
• Be available to take call/standby as required by the department.
• Perform the duties of a Radiologic Technologist as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have ARRT certification in CT Tech & Radiology.
• BLS certification required (must be from the American Heart Association).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in CT and Radiology.
• Familiarity with GE CT and X-ray machines is essential.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift from 19:00 to 07:00.
