Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Neuro ICU is responsible for providing optimal patient care utilizing expert knowledge and skills within the nursing process. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient outcomes throughout the care episode, focusing on comprehensive nursing services for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for neuro patients, including those with ischemic/hemorrhagic strokes and post-neurosurgery patients.
• Coordinate patient care among multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• Engage with families and caregivers in the assessment and planning of care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience required.
• Experience caring for Neuro Trauma and post-neuro surgery patients is essential.
• NV RN license is required prior to start.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Preferred experience includes caring for post Alteplase and/or post Thrombectomy patients.
• Experience with external ventricular drains is preferred.
