Schedule

AM Shift: 07:00 – 19:30; 5 × 8 hr shifts per week.

Job Description

The Mammography Technologist performs medical mammograms to diagnose disease or trauma. This role involves programming the mammography machine for optimal density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion. The technologist is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and safe operation of mammography equipment in compliance with radiation safety guidelines. Additionally, the technologist will perform and document all QA/QC tests as defined by MQSA and must be prepared to work on the Mobile Mammography Van, including weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical mammograms to diagnose disease or trauma.
• Program the mammography machine for correct operational parameters.
• Prepare, maintain, and operate mammography equipment safely.
• Adhere to appropriate radiation safety guidelines.
• Conduct and document QA/QC tests as defined by MQSA.
• Work on the Mobile Mammography Van when required, including weekends.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Mammography required within 2 years from date of hire.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate from a two-year AMA approved radiologic technology program required.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist required.
• 1 year experience in Mammography preferred.
• Registered Technologist (R) (M) certification required.
• Mammo Quality Standards Act compliance required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
