Registered Nurse (RN) - Week Nights & Occasional Weekend Nights
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) collaborates with the health care team to ensure safe and optimal patient outcomes by utilizing evidence-based practice. The nurse demonstrates accountability and respect for patients, families, and coworkers while promoting continuity of care through effective communication with the interdisciplinary team and families. This role involves directing the work of support staff in the provision of care and performing general nursing duties with strong critical thinking skills and minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote patient safety and optimal outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and families regarding patient care.
- Direct the work of support staff in delivering quality patient care.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to perform general nursing duties with minimal supervision.
- Work with age-specific populations according to the nursing setting.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
- Current Registration and Licensure in the State of Iowa as an RN in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS certification required. New employees must certify within three (3) months after hire.
- Current ACLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications to be obtained per guidelines of the Education Course Requirements policy.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong empathetic listening skills, tact, and kindness toward others.
- Basic computer knowledge and technical skills related to sound nursing judgment.
Schedule
This position involves working week nights and occasional weekend nights.
