Schedule

Position is primarily 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Hours may fluctuate slightly based on surgery case load, with potential starts as early as 6:00 AM. Position includes on-call rotation, approximately one night per every two week pay period, and every 5th to 6th weekend. Holiday call rotation included.

Job Description

Winneshiek Medical Center is seeking a full-time contract Surgical Technologist with experience in various surgical specialties, including General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, OBGYN, Podiatry, Urology, and Dental. The successful candidate will assist medical professionals during surgeries by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile environments, and providing support throughout surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments for various surgical procedures.
• Maintain sterile techniques and ensure a safe and clean environment.
• Assist surgical teams with routine surgical functions.
• Monitor and manage surgical supplies and equipment.
• Provide support to the surgical team during operations, including handing instruments and materials as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
• State of Iowa Mandatory Reporter Training.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Ability to stay within 30 minutes of WinnMed when on-call.
