Registered Nurse - Maternity Care
Schedule
36 hours per week, varying schedule with potential for every third weekend.

Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse specializing in maternity care. The RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing interventions, assessing patient needs, and ensuring high standards of patient care in a maternity setting.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Provide patient and family education based on individual learning needs and readiness to learn.
- Administer medications and provide intravenous therapy as per physician's orders.
- Monitor and document patients' clinical conditions accurately and timely.
- Provide care to postpartum and gynecological patients, recognizing and addressing any complications.
- Deliver appropriate newborn care education to new mothers and families.
- Utilize fetal monitoring equipment and interpret fetal heart rate patterns accurately.
- Participate in discharging planning and coordinate care resources as needed.
- Promote a safe environment by identifying and mitigating risks to patient safety.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Minimum one year of medical/surgical nursing experience required; maternity experience preferred.
- Current Massachusetts RN license; IV competent.
- CPR certification required; NRP certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS certification upon hire or active BLS card with AHA ACLS within 60 days of hire.
- For nurses working in labor and delivery, completion of AWHONN's Introduction to Fetal Monitoring and AWHONN's Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring within one year is required.
