CT Technologist

Job Description

CT technologists utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. A CT scan technologist interprets physician scanning instructions, administers contrast materials, operates CT scan equipment, and positions patients to capture appropriate images. The role requires maneuvering equipment and patients, which may pose physical challenges, and adherence to safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct friendly, courteous, and respectful interactions with everyone.
• Advocate for patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Maintain a clean and safe hospital environment.
• Respond appropriately in emergency situations.
• Ensure compliance with regulations for accreditation and licensure.
• Produce diagnostic-quality images for precise interpretations by radiologists.
• Assess patients to ensure appropriate exposure techniques, considering pregnancy precautions.
• Review physician orders for accuracy prior to examinations.
• Document requisition reviews and coordinate with scheduling for timely exams.
• Operate diagnostic Cat Scan processing and maintain image quality.
• Provide a safe environment to prevent patient falls and ensure patient comfort.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiology Technology, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of CT experience, or equivalent experience as determined by the Department Manager.
• MA DPH Radiology License required.
• ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) preferred; ARRT (CT) required within two years of hire.

Schedule

Flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, providing first and second shift coverage as needed.
