Registered Nurse - CVOR - Days

Schedule

This is a full-time position for days with an 8-hour shift, typically from 0600 to 1430. The role requires floating to clinically appropriate units as needed, in accordance with the clinician's scope of practice, licensure, and demonstrated competencies. Call duties may be required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the CVOR will provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role entails collaborating with surgical teams and monitoring patient conditions pre- and post-operation, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care.

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative and postoperative care to patients.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and condition during surgery.
• Assist surgeons during procedures by preparing instruments and ensuring the sterile field is maintained.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families regarding postoperative care and recovery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS Certification.
• ACLS Certification.
• Additional certifications may be required based on unit assignments (e.g., PALS, TNCC, NIHSS).
