Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday) required.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care in various units, floating between PICU, ED, and adult critical care as needed. The role involves performing procedures such as blood gas analysis, initiation and management of ventilation/BiPAP/high flow oxygen therapy, code response, in-house transport, medication administration, and chest physiotherapy.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood gas analysis and manage ventilation support.
• Respond to codes and provide in-house patient transport.
• Administer medications as per protocols.
• Conduct chest physiotherapy and other respiratory treatments.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Document patient care and treatment plans using the EPIC charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Preferred experience in PICU or NICU settings.
• Active NJ license required.
• Certifications: BLS and NBRC required; advanced certifications (ACLS/PALS/NRP) are highly preferred.
• Experience with equipment such as Servo I & U and V60 BiPAP is preferred.
