Surgical Technologist

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist functions in the role of scrub person, working under the supervision of the surgeon and the R.N. to ensure a safe O.R. environment. This role is crucial in maintaining equipment functionality and conducting operative procedures that maximize patient safety. Candidates must possess expertise in surgical techniques, human anatomy, and the application of tools and technologies necessary for safe patient care during invasive procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure case carts are completed according to preference cards.
• Communicate with operating room and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation.
• Review daily schedules with charge nurse and sterile processing coordinator to identify potential issues.
• Assume responsibility for communication and coordination regarding staff duties and breaks.
• Provide resources for supply and instrumentation procurement for surgical procedures.
• Coordinate with materials management on supply utilization and deployment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military program.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential preferred.

Schedule

10-12 hour shifts depending on needs.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
