Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule

Straight Nights 7 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday.

Job Description

The Cardiac Stepdown RN is responsible for monitoring vital signs, administering medications, managing cardiac devices, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal recovery and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Cardiac Monitoring and Assessment: Continuously monitor cardiovascular status and assess for signs of cardiac complications.
• Medication Administration and Management: Administer and monitor adverse reactions to prescribed cardiac medications.
• Patient Care and Recovery Support: Provide post-surgical care and manage pain, while monitoring for complications.
• Patient Education: Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and post-care guidelines.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work with healthcare providers to develop comprehensive care plans and document care accurately.
• Emergency Response and Critical Care: Respond to emergencies and assist in resuscitation efforts.
• Infection Control and Safety: Follow protocols to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years RN experience in Med Surg.
• Minimum of 1 year of travel experience.
• Current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
• BLS required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience in cardiac care, critical care, or telemetry nursing is required.
