Job Description

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for independently performing a variety of radiation therapy treatments, simulations, treatment planning, and fabrication of specialized treatment aids according to the prescription and instructions of the physician. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their age-specific needs and to provide the necessary care.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiation therapy treatments and simulations.
• Create treatment plans in accordance with physician prescriptions.
• Fabricate specialized treatment aids as needed.
• Maintain proficiency with Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator and ARIA EMR.
• Treat 25-30 patients per day across various treatment modalities including 3D, IMRT, SBRT, and electrons.
• Execute set-ups for all treatment sites at this comprehensive cancer center.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of progressively responsible imaging technologist/specialist experience.
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy (T).
• Current BLS certification.
• Active State of Hawaii Radiologic Technologist license as a Radiation Therapist.
