Job Description

The LTAC/Telemetry Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the safe delivery of care; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the LTAC/Telemetry unit.
• Utilize critical thinking skills in patient assessment and care planning.
• Delegate tasks to nursing staff appropriately based on education and experience.
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and hospital policies.
• Supervise and mentor nursing personnel in delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have 2-5 years of nursing experience with a focus on Tele/LTAC in a hospital setting.
• Valid Indiana or multi-state compact RN license.
• Current ACLS & BLS certifications (must be attached with submission, and certifications must be through the American Heart Association).
• Experience with ventilator and tracheostomy patients is required.
