Schedule

3x12-hour shifts, with variable daytime coverage. Shifts may include:

• 06:30 - 19:00
• 10:30 - 23:00 with on-call from 23:00 - 07:00
• On-call responsibilities are estimated at 70-90 hours within a 6-week period.

Job Description

The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) will provide comprehensive nursing care in the surgical setting, ensuring patient safety and promoting optimal recovery. The RN will assist in surgical procedures, manage anesthesia equipment, and monitor patient vitals during operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with surgical procedures across various disciplines including OB/GYN, Orthopedics, and General Surgery.
• Monitor patients during and after surgery, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to provide high-quality patient care.
• Maintain a sterile environment and perform proper handling of surgical instruments.
• Document patient care and surgical procedures in the electronic health record.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of experience in an operating room setting; 3 years preferred.
• Current RN license in California.
• ACLS certification preferred; BCLS required.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
• Ability to float between the main OR and outpatient surgery center as required.
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed.
