Registered Nurse - Step-Down Unit

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and positive Registered Nurse to join our Step-Down Unit. The successful candidate will be focused on patient safety and care, working in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes teamwork and efficient patient throughput. You will be responsible for providing care to a diverse patient population, including those recently admitted from the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Complete Admission Assessments and Medication Reconciliation for newly admitted patients.
• Initiate acute care orders and ensure timely execution of care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient experience and throughput.
• Manage a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5 in Step-Down/1:6 in MedSurg.
• Float to other units as needed based on patient care requirements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) settings.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to step into a leadership role is appreciated.
• Strong focus on teamwork and a positive attitude in a high-volume environment.
