Registered Nurse - Med/Surg (Nights)

Schedule

This position requires night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with additional weekend shifts rotated among staff.

Job Description

The competent Registered Nurse will provide routine and complex care, demonstrating awareness of relevant aspects of patient situations. The role involves making appropriate assignments, delegating to other care providers, and managing clinical situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Provide nursing care that addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS certification from AHA required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact required.
