Registered Nurse - Medical Step Down Unit

Night shift, 12-hour shifts (3 days per week).

Job Description

Our Medical Step Down Unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care. The unit specializes in managing patients with conditions such as Sepsis, Heart Failure, Hypertensive Emergency, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Chronic Kidney Disease, Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, Substance Abuse, Status Epilepticus, and Encephalopathy. The unit consists of 16-20 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor patients’ responses.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a step-down environment.
• Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor vital signs and patient conditions, taking appropriate action as needed.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and rehabilitation processes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical or step-down unit.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification.
• Active RN license in the state of practice.
