Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is effectively implemented. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record accurately and timely.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate any changes in patient status to the relevant care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Actively contribute to a positive and efficient working environment on the unit.
• Assume charge responsibility as needed following the orientation period.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (specific to CIRH).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience required.
• ICU experience required.
