MRI Technologist

Schedule

This position offers a full-time schedule with 36 hours per week. Shifts are 12 hours long, occurring on Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm. Variable shifts may be required based on census.

Job Description

The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing MRI procedures, ensuring patient safety, and providing excellent patient care while maintaining confidentiality. The role involves working with patients of all ages, including geriatric and pediatric populations. The technologist must communicate effectively and develop strong working relationships with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI procedures and develop protocols.
• Screen patients for contraindications and follow safety requirements.
• Explain MRI procedures to patients, addressing concerns with tact and courtesy.
• Educate patients on procedures and respond to inquiries.
• Ensure patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols and managing hazardous materials.
• Monitor patients visually and verbally during procedures.
• Maintain a clean and orderly environment to promote safety.
• Monitor inventory and report on equipment status.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate's Degree or Certificate from a two-year college or relevant program.
• ARRT registration required.
• BCLS certification must be obtained within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Influenza vaccination required as mandated by state regulations, unless exempted for medical reasons.
