Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Schedule

This is a night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. The schedule includes 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6 weeks, along with holiday coverage as needed.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department will provide high-quality care to patients experiencing a wide range of medical emergencies. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work under pressure, demonstrate critical thinking skills, and engage effectively with both patients and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care, including management of acute and chronic conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records using Epic charting systems.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department.
• Active RN license is required.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications are required; CPI, PALS, and TNCC are preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
• Previous charge nurse and Level 2 Trauma experience preferred.
• All candidates must pass a compliance EKG exam.
