Registered Nurse - Maternity Unit

Schedule

This position requires a night shift schedule (19:00 – 07:30) consisting of 3 × 12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week.

Job Description

The Maternity Unit is a family-centered, multidisciplinary care area dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to mothers, newborns, and families throughout the childbirth experience. The unit offers high-quality antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care while promoting patient safety, education, and positive birth experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional care that supports the physical, emotional, and educational needs of mothers, newborns, and families.
• Float to Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) as needed; experience with both is required.
• Monitor and manage antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care for patients.
• Ensure effective collaboration among nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff.
• Perform fetal monitoring and postpartum care, ensuring adherence to best practices.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 1 year of nursing experience in a similar setting.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications are required.
• Fetal monitoring experience is required (certification not necessary).
• Must be available to work at least 1-2 weekends per month; no holiday shifts required.
