Schedule

Rotating night/evening shifts: 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30 / 15:00 - 03:30). Every other weekend and holidays required.

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) in a fast-paced environment, catering to patients of all ages ranging from infants to geriatrics. You will be a key player in providing high-quality nursing care while managing complex patient diagnoses in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and manage a patient ratio of 1:4, with the possibility of 1:5 for lower acuity patients.
• Administer emergency medications and perform critical nursing procedures including intubation, chest tube insertion/management, and care of ventilated patients.
• Participate in patient assessments and triage patients effectively in urgent situations.
• Assist in the management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, mental/behavioral health conditions, and other complex diagnoses.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
• Current RN license in the state of Maryland or compact state license.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS; CPI to be completed during onboarding.
• Experience with the Epic charting system is necessary.
• Charge experience is preferred.
