MS/Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

This is a 13-week contract position with a Night Shift schedule of 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00).

Job Description

The MS/Tele Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in a Medical-Surgical and Telemetry unit while adhering to best practices and established guidelines. The RN will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and ensure quality nursing care for patients with varying diagnoses, including colon cancer, intestinal obstructions, breast cancer, and more.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a Medical-Surgical and Telemetry setting.
• Assist with phlebotomy and IV placements as required.
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias effectively.
• Participate in the activation of Rapid Response Teams as needed.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding care plans and management techniques.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records using Epic.
• Collaborate with PCTs and other staff members for the delivery of basic patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing role.
• Valid NY State RN license required.
• Current BLS certification is mandatory.
• Documentation of competencies in phlebotomy and IV skills.
• Ability to float between like units as per facility needs.
