Schedule

4x10-hour shifts from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 4 days a week (Thursday and Friday required; other days negotiable). Must be available every other weekend and holiday as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in the Discharge Lounge. The ideal candidate will provide quality patient care and support, ensuring effective discharge processes within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage own patient assignments under the supervision of an RN.
• Assess and monitor patient vital signs, pain levels, and overall well-being.
• Administer medications via various routes including oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, eye/ear drops, and IV therapy (using pumps).
• Perform wound care, including simple dressings and maintenance of drains.
• Implement isolation precautions and monitor patients for safety and comfort.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the RN or MD promptly.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning processes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New York Single State LPN license (no compact licenses accepted).
• Current BLS certification required.
• At least 1 year of acute care experience within the last 2 years.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
