Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nights

This is a night shift position consisting of 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00.

Job Description

The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit. The nurse will work closely with a team to manage critical patient conditions and support families during challenging times.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care in the ICU, including patients with multi-system organ dysfunction/failure.
• Conduct assessments and administer medications including continuous IV sedation and blood products.
• Perform procedures such as arterial line management, central line care, and chest tube insertion/removal.
• Utilize advanced technology for patient monitoring, including ventilator management and ICP monitoring.
• Document patient status and care provided accurately within the electronic health record.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and progress.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 1+ years of experience in an ICU setting is required.
• Current NM license or compact license is accepted (must be obtained prior to start).
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are required.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:2 is essential.
