Job Description

The competent Registered Nurse practices independently in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations. This role requires the ability to cope and manage clinical nursing contingencies, develop long-range goals, and make appropriate assignments and delegations to other care providers.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments as per protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only).
• RN License in the state of Texas or compact.
