Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse
Job Description
The Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse (NICU RN) is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The NICU RN utilizes the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure the safe delivery of care, while also maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive care to NICU patients in a critical care environment.
- Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Utilize advanced clinical skills and knowledge to manage patients' medical needs.
- Delegate patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the available staff.
- Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.
Schedule
This position requires a night shift from 19:00 to 07:00.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Two years of experience in a NICU setting.
- Prior travel experience is mandatory; local candidates will not be considered.
- Current BLS and NRP certifications are required.
- An unencumbered RN license is necessary to practice in the state of employment.
