Job Description

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse will provide exceptional care to immediate post-operative open heart patients in a 10-bed ICU unit. This role demands recent experience in open heart recovery and the ability to assess and manage critical cardiac conditions effectively. You will work collaboratively with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, ensuring comprehensive support for patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in a CVICU setting.
• Operate advanced medical equipment, including central lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support systems.
• Conduct skilled assessments to intervene in potential deteriorating conditions.
• Assist in discharge planning and coordination of care from admission to discharge.
• Act as a clinical leader, guiding and mentoring junior staff members.
• Recognize and respond to critical emergencies within the cardiac patient population.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current State of Montana RN Licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Recent critical care nursing experience, particularly in CVICU settings.
• Proficiency in advanced nursing principles and cardiac telemetry.
