Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a safe environment for both patients and employees.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
- Collaborate with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals.
- Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences.
- Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, utilizing the nursing process to provide direct patient care.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
- Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status changes to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel and delegate appropriately.
- Maintain personal and environmental safety according to nursing policies and procedures.
- Participate in team building activities to create a positive work environment.
- Identify and address service needs related to supplies and equipment.
- Assume charge responsibilities as needed after orientation.
- Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
- Prioritize activities for effective use of time and staff in meeting patient needs.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift
- ACLS Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY)
- Minimum Two (2) Years Bedside Clinical Experience
