Surgical Technologist - Day Shift

Schedule

Day shift Tuesday - Friday, 10 hours per day. Also requires on-call availability.

Job Description

The Surgical Technologist will assist in a variety of advanced and complex surgical procedures under the supervision of a registered nurse. The primary responsibilities include preparing the surgical environment, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, and ensuring the sterile field is maintained throughout the procedure.

Responsibilities

• Scrub in on surgical procedures, collaborating closely with the surgical team.
• Anticipate the surgeon’s instrument and material preferences to streamline operations.
• Set up sterile tables with necessary instruments, equipment, and medications for surgeries.
• Take apart and reassemble instruments for cleaning and prepare them for terminal sterilization.
• Monitor supplies and maintain the quality assurance of materials used in patient care.
• Conduct inventory for assigned services and request supplies as needed.
• Participate in educational program development and implementation for staff training.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of a technologist training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs or a recognized agency.
• Surgical Technologist Certification (CST) is required.
• Current BLS certification.
• At least 1 year of surgical technologist experience preferred.
